Eastern Elk?
« on: August 12, 2008, 03:28:19 PM »
So i'm new to the area, moved from the midwest so I've never seen a bull elk.  I volunteer here in Cheney at turnbull, and we have a lot of resident and migrating rocky mt, but I want to get out into the mountains for a better chance at viewing them in more mountainous terrain.

Also I have some invested interest in the next years elk season.

Thanks for the tips and some suggestions on where to go, for the east side.  I've heard some conflicting reports about the east and thought it would be good to get a thread started to clean up my confusion.

I've heard the blue mountains but where (they're pretty big)?  Again just moved from WI so i'm lost.

Thanks,

Ellsworth

Howdy neighbor, :)  My son is working at Turnbull this summer, great job for a 15 year old!  I'll send you a PM.

Load up the family, girlfriend, or whatever floats your boat and go on a little camping trip to Peaches Ridge Area (HWY 410)  You could even stay at Whistlen Jacks.  Get up early and drive the roads or watch some of the meadows along the roads in the evenings.  You should see pleanty of elk and most likely a bull or two.

NORTH SPOKANE - LIVE UP OFF OF MOFFAT RD AND FORKER (JUDKINS RD).  YOU WANT TO SEE ELK ANY EVENING RIGHT NOW, DRIVE THAT AREA IN THE EVENINGS.
