early season archery clothing pants and shirt

idk if they are made from cotton but the ones i have from the 80s and 90s the summers, are the absolute most comfortable pants i have ever owned, you dont know what comfort is until you have wore them, i also have the woolys and the rivers west and fleece and everything else but i would always rather be huntn in my cammys, you can still getm at the army surplus store for cheap they probably still got the old style jungle boot, but to each his own, whats comfort for one might not be for the other

A lot of the newer BDUs are poly/cotton blend, maybe not ideal for backpacking but just fine for hunting from a base camp.

Old broke in pair of summer BDU's and a tshirt, Throw a little heavier gear in the pack if it looks like it could get nasty  and a worn pair of jungle boots

    Works for me year after year.

me as well plateau, i still have some BDU's from when i was in the infantry, i even still got the old green and black jungle boots that are perfectly broke in, it has to be pretty bad out before i dont where that stuff, even if i get soaked by the time i get home it all dry and ready for the next day 

Yep, still got 2 pairs from back in the day.  Can almost fit into them again and 1 pair was my field pair and I had to keep the pair I used for inspections.  It's still hard as cardboard and looks brand new yet.  I haven't gone wrong yet with them and plan to wear them until they fall apart.

Nobody with any comments on Kryptek?

Whack em - I used Kryptek Alaios pants and shirt last year over a merino base layer and the combination was great for early season archery.  Was warm enough for the cooler mornings and breathed good enough for the 95+ middle of the day.  THe pants are loaded with features and pockets and the shirt is a perfect mix of stretch and durability.

Not to mention the company was founded by some ex-military guys who have a passion for hunting and making the best technical clothing.

Thanks for the reply, we're leaning towards them.  Sounds like they will be great for the temperature ranges we'll face early season.

Whack em,

Buy the Cabela's Hunt Tech 6-pocket pants instead of Kryptic.  Same material, better construction & fit, only six pockets (who really needs 12 pockets in their pants?) and 1/2 the price of Kryptic!

To each their own.  I don't own a pair of hunt-tech pants so I can't comment on them and the fabric being the same as Kryptek.  Better construction - please enlighten me and fit is dependent on the user.

I love the knee pads (I thought I would hate them),  I also liked the extra pockets.  I know I could probably store all the stuff in my pack or jumble it one pocket, but I was able to keep my calls, face mask, gloves, beanie, chap stick, gps, etc... all organixed and accessible without taking off my pack.
