9x7 muley. plus a couple more from today
« on: July 06, 2012, 08:14:48 PM »
was out on the morning of the 4th and ran into this guy.  All I had was my spotter and my cell phone.  Sorry for the pic it was the best I could do with what I had.  He is palmated on both sides and had several points coming off of the palms.  Cool buck and hope he still around during season.

He doesn't look very worried to me!  :chuckle:  :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I saw him again this morning but he was hanging out in the thick stuff. So I wasn't able to get a good pic.  Watched him bed down went in after him to get a pic.  I got within 5 yards of him and the shutter speed on the camera was to slow to get him before he was gone. :bash:

My first instincts are keep an eye on him and don't try to get close until opening day! Or, if you know he's always in the area, hike in around where he beds to let him know you are around to get allow him to think your not a threat come opening day!  What are your thoughts and your tactics you'll use to allow yourself an opportunity? Just some thoughts, good hunting.

well lets just say I needed to get him away from a well traveled hiking trail.  So I am not to worried about spooking him.   He see's people quite often.  So I needed to give him a little push.  He won't go far.

Great pics for what you were working with, I know how hard the spotting scope & cell phone thing is. I have to take a truck load of pics and hope a couple will do. It's way hard to get the angle right on the cell and hold steady at the same time.

Good luck finding him this season!
