Based on that story I would say he did it. However, I don't get (from that story) how he was charged with 14 counts of bear baiting and 3 counts of illegally hunting bears over bait. Unless he admitted to it, how do they know he wasn't baiting cougar or coyotes and just couldn't resist that HUGE boar when it wandered in? I don't suspect this was the case. I'm just thinking about if one of us got caught baiting cougar, coyote or deer and got charged with illegal bear baiting just because a bear showed up on camera.

Unless he confessed, I don't see how he got charged with anything more than 1 count of illegally harvesting a bear.  :dunno:

This will be my first year Bear hunting and with no family members who hunt I'm struggling a bit to make sure I know what to bring. I'm glad I came across this thread and that helpful article, now if I can only find a light / portable adorandak chair that'll fit on my pack. :chuckle: See the two pins in the right hand side of his chair? I bet he had a custom rest he set up to hunt extra-lazy...

Seemed like a pretty back handed apology to me.
