Lake Chelan Recreation Area Boundary for High Hunt
« on: July 09, 2012, 09:17:10 AM »
Okay, so I have looked pretty hard and have yet to find the boundary to the Lake Chelan Recreation Area for the high buck hunt.

I've located the boundary for the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness area (which is not the Lake Chelan Recreation Area), I can see the boundary for the Stephen Mather Wilderness (which appears to contain parts of the Lake Chelan Recreation Area).  Also in the Stephen Mather wilderness is the Ross Lake NRA so that means that the Lake Chelan NRA cannot take up all of the Stephen Mather wilderness....

SO WHERE IS THE LINE?

Can someone help out with this please?  Trying to stay legal and there's not a map I can find anywhere that specifically details the boundaries of the NRA.

Thanks in advance.

the green trails map has it marked out and so does the nat geo map for that area i dont have them on me so i could describe the boundary's but that would be a good place to start there should also be a map on the national forest website.  the northern boundary is the national park the western boundary is glacier peak wilderness and i thought the eastern boundary was the mountain tops down a ways into sawtooth but don't take my word for that buy one of those maps there not the expensive

go to discovernw.org and click the forest service icon on the left.  On page 3 you will find the central washington cascades map for $8.  It has the okanogan-wenatchee national forest and Lake Chelan Rec area. or go to a local ranger station if one is close by and buy one there.

OKay, I can try those things.  I just feel like most boundaries you can find online, somewhere nowdays.  Kind of shocked when I couldnt locate anything.
