Kettle Crest Trail North

Hiked the north part last weekend. Left sherman pass friday morning and hit deer creek summit sunday. Saw some cool country along the way. Does this area get hunted much?

Yes. Horses are the main mode of travel from what I see. There is a lot of BIG mulies up there.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

oh yeah..Take a drive in October up the fs road..there is about 225+ mulies harvested every rifle season in the unit

I kinda figured it gets hit pretty hard during deer season. Did see two nice bucks on the hike. And some  fresh bear sign on the trail

I rode my mule up there last year, it was an awesome ride, seen quite a few nice mulies and alot of fresh bear sign as well.

All the guys I know hunt them, which doesn't say much, since I don't have any friends ........ :chuckle: It's not elbow to elbow full of people at all. Why, ya wanna come up here and try ?

The thought of bear hunting or archery deer did cross my mind.   :) But a new possibility a high buck hunt might be in the cards now.

I would love if they would make it a high hunt but it would be impossible because of all the roads close to the ridge top and its not a wilderness area and i pray it never becomes one..

True there are some roads really close to the ridge. Depending on work. Might try and go into  the Henry M Jackson for the high buck hunt.
