However if you take the cost of a good pup and divide it out by 13 years , the monthly cost for the enjoyment you get isnt bad. But for now I am looking in the $800. range. Although my wife and I have not ruled it out. Last night in Mount Vernon I saw a young lady with two pure white big male labs. They were bookends on a baby stroller. I pulled over ran across the street to talk to her, I think she was going for the pepper spray before she realizedd I was a obsessed lab guy. Those dogs came out of a farm in Tacoma called Canyon Meadows. They two have a $1500.00 price tag. So the search is still on and I really apreciate anyones help. Willing to go to Idaho or Oregon. I am not sure that I am willing to buy one cross country sight unseen and ship it to me. Some guys do it but I am more hands on.Six years ago I purchased two Labs that are exactly what you are looking for and they cost me 1,200 a pop. Great looking dogs. Good luck finding one in that price range. It's probably possible but I didn't find one.

It really takes a lot of work finding a pup. And than the the part I really hate are some of the puppy contracts are very intrusive into your private life. Some I just find offensive and would not deal with the breeder.Really I understand folks wanting to make sure the dog is going to a proper home. But having to detail where a dog will be under every instance of every day is over kill.
Found one for 800 in the little nickle online from a akc breeder, light color and block headed, but don't know much else without contacting them. http://kennel.weebly.com/

But having to detail where a dog will be under every instance of every day is over kill.It can be a lot of work searching for just the right pup. I spent two years looking for a Chocolate Lab with the pedigree I wanted. Granted I took my time and was in no hurry. I think looking for the right dog is part of the fun. I know what you're saying about the intrusive nature of some of the breeders and their puppy contracts. I ran into that too. In the end I found, for me, the perfect pup. I hope to have him some time in November. Good luck with your search.
