TERRY BAUGHN HUNTER MISSING/FOUND`
We have learned that this past Sunday afternoon (Aug. 5th) a cattleman, Terry Miller who is a line rider that works cattle who graze in the mountains during the summer months, found Terry Baughn while he was searching for stray cattle. Terry was found on the southwest side of Doughty Mountain at an elevation of about 9,800 ft. Doughty Mountain is about 10,100 ft. at its peak so Terry was at an elevation about 300 ft.
below the peak.
The location where Terry was found is approximately 1.3 miles from the Point Last Seen (PLS) and almost halfway between the PLS and the camp. The search in June had taken the searchers close to this point; but they had purposely stayed below an elevation of 9,600 ft. as they believed that it was unlikely that he would have gone up the mountain.
With information gathered from talking with individuals who have been on the scene, it appears likely that something happened to Terry very suddenly and he likely did not make it thru the first night. We likely will not know the rest of the story this side of heaven.
Again there will be a Celebration of Life in Terry's honor held in both Ohio and Indiana at some future date. That information will be posted on this blog site.
We continue to covet your prayers for the family as we transition through the coming weeks. We are so thankful to God for answering our prayers as we were seeking to be able to bring some closure to this great lose.
