We saw a similar looking bull scouting in the Blues at the end of May. He was running with four other bulls that were really nice.
Figured he gets his butt kicked on a regular basis!

looks to me like he would be legal eastside or westside, he'd pass as a spike or 3 point

I got this guy on my game camera last year. His freak side is on his left and the other side was a decent 5. Hes on private property so i'm thinking he could have made it thru last year.

Key words, does not branch above the ear.

i dont know where you heard that one :dunno:

from the regs:
Spike Bull Restrictions:Elk taken in these units must have at least one antler with no branches originating more than four inches above where the antler attaches to the skull. An animal with a spike on one side (1x2) is legal in spike only units. An animal with more than one antler point more than four inches above where the antler attaches to the skull on both sides (2x2) is illegal.

that means that bull is illegal

I disagree, using your same statement above.  The bull right now DOES NOT branch four inches above his skull plate where his antler attaches to the skull.  It does branch but it is below the skull plate.   I think there needs to be a clarification between four inches on the mainbeam or four inches above the skull.  But as it is wrote that bull is legal in both areas.

I think.... :dunno: :chuckle:
