looking for a new arrow rest for my pse bow madness 3g
« on: July 17, 2012, 05:28:16 PM »
i have ripcord code red not really happy with the way it shoots. wanted to try a different rest. ive been shooting off and on archery for about 5 years. got a new bow. thought about trying a qad or the new trophy ridge. thanks im shooting 350 carbon express maxima hunters with slick trick magnums 100grain broadheads. usually shoot the easton fmj in 340. dont like the carbon express much could not get them to group well with my old bowtech allegience. but i have about 10 them so i wanted to use them up.

Based on reviews here and my dads been shooting one for a month or so now. Killer rest and more than half the price of the qad ;)

Quiktune Sizzor for me.  I like the full containment and arms move way out of the way.  My shooting has improved a lot since changing from Trophy Taker, though I think the Trophy Taker when set up was dropping away too fast and the wide V made me worry about side to side travel.  I can have the Sizzor rest hold until just before the fletchings arrive.  Seems to adds a lot more stability which converts into tighter groups.  Easy to adjust timing on the dropaway.  The new Armorrest by NAP looks like similar idea with some improvement in design.  I think I would probably like the Revolution as well for same reason, though not sure if you can adjust string tension without untying it from the cable.

I am using a trophy taker smackdown. And it is working well for me. Any of the mentioned rests will perform very well when set up correctly. What is your code red doing that you don't like? Alwine should be able to help as that's what they shoot... I think.

been using a qad for a few years....flawless.

probably would not recommend it if you have a thick riser, though.  the plastic extender is kinda cheesy and wimpy.  i machined a chunk of aluminum to replace it for my brute.

How long til elk season?!??

straightened out the rest issue. it seems it was more of a arrow shaft issue. going to stick with the ripcord.

Check out Sportco's tent sale. I just picked up a nice drop away for $15. At that price you can afford to try something different. They have different ones and put out new one each day. So if you see something you like get it if not go back another day and they may have something you do. FYI mines a Quick tune and really improved my grouping, especially at 40 yards.

If you want to save some money and you go the qad ultra rest route get the LD version, EXACT same internally just doesn't have the cord length adj on the wheel.
Myself I use the new trophy taker FC Extreme and love it! Built like a tank and very smooth and quiet. Same as the new smackdown just attaches to the down cable instead of the up cable or limb. Plus it's 30-40$ cheaper than the HD ultrarests.
