CCI Shotshells

Anyone use these in their 1911 or .40 Glock?  Just wondering if they work well and if they do in fact work on snakes.  Moving to a place that has rattlesnakes, copperheads, cotton mouths and coral snakes.  Just want to be ready in case I come across some of these in my yard.

I think they work OK in revolvers at close range.

Key word revolver.   They work excellent on snakes, but they don't have enough "power" to cycle the action of a semi-auto.

  That is spot on. They work for snakes and mice and other very small critters at very close range!

the .45 acp shotshell are quite effective snake medicine at close range, but again may not cycle your pistol..

Well, the CCI snake shot loads that I used in my Glock 21 cycled just fine and yes, they do a hell of a job on snakes. Must be those fancy high dollar 1911's they don't work in

Use them in my Sig P229 .40 for starling control, rats, snakes, mice and even on a rabbit once... They don't cycle the slide, but that is just a minor inconvenience to me.  I also use the crimped ones in my .22 for shooting starlings in my shop and barn, enough to taken them out and they wont damage anything.  I haven't tried the .40 ones inside yet, they might work pretty well too, but I think the pellets are a little bigger and have a slightly higher velocity, so they may cause a little damage to thin metal or wood.

22lr shotshells in my 22 revolver exterminate rats very handily, I can only guess that they would work well on snakes too. I would think that centerfire shotshells would just about reduce a snake to goo.

I shoot these in my .44 mag... for grouse, and carry them for snakes...  they work but have to be inside 15 ft. or less...

They Cycle fine in a G21 with a stock recoil spring.  In a 1911(.45), i would go down to a 14lb spring (try ISMI) they should work then.

In snake country I always carry birdshot for the first shot and then ball after that.
