Lost zero on my scope
« on: July 23, 2012, 11:05:16 PM »
I had my scope zeroed at 100yards and when i got to were i was gonna shoot today the dang thing was 18inches @ 2oclock. :bash: :bash: :bash: I tried twisting  and pulling the scope and i couldn't get it to budge. so i think it cold be the crosshairs broke? :dunno: Got it zeroed at 200yards now. I guess i just need to wait to shoot it again at the range and see if it holds. Has this ever happened to you? Savage 300wm scope that came with the gun, low end nikon with the nikon name on it.

Seems to be a common issue with the ProStaff and lower end Nikon.  Haven't heard of it much with the Monarch though.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

If it loses zero once, send it in. It WILL lose it again. In all honesty I wish they'd just leave the scope off. You know its a crap scope when it is attached to the cheapest line of savages. I wish they'd keep the scope and knock 50 bucks off the price.

I bought my savage/stevens bottom of the barrel gun and it had a crap scope on it.  I swapped it out for a $150 redfield and am very happy.  The gun is great.  The scope is garbage

If it's a Nikon, they will fix it. All scopes put on these combo guns are made for them to shoot them or the gun mfgrs wouldn't waste their money to make money.
