Where to get something printed?
« on: July 24, 2012, 07:24:17 AM »
So...posting this in the photography section hoping somebody can give me a lead on where to have something printed. I have the hard copy files of a three page article I had published recently. Because my son is the focus I would like to have the pages printed on some type of paper that will last over time. Does anyone have a suggestion on an online company that I can simply upload, pay, and have mailed to me?

As an example you can click on the attachement....it is the first page or cover shot I guess of the article.

Thanks.

Print it off and have your local Kinko's laminate it for you.

I think Kodak.com, walmart.com, any pharmacy like Rite Aid, I think even Flickr and Photobucket offer printing services..
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Take to Costco, they do a pretty good job.  Make sure it is printed on acid free paper and when you frame it make sure that it is done with acid free backer and tape.  It'll last for ever that way.

Staples or Officemax. They do all kinds of good printing.

Thanks for the tips. I posted the three pages in the general section if you would like to see it. Look for "have you seen this" thread.

Check out Shuttlefly.com! You can get creative with types of print, stock, etc. and they're fairly cheap. I haven't had any problem with shipment but if you do, they'll refund or replace for free.

Great photo by the way

Thanks. I took a few others with a cheapo digital point and shoot. Got lucky I would say. That photo and a few others were used in the article.

ive used walmart and costco and currently i use mpix.com for my printing of photos.  personally i was not impressed with walmart, although cheap, i walked in with a thumb drive and did the in store kiosk.

with costco i uploaded the jpeg file on their website and had it mailed, pretty decent quality but a little more expensive.

with mpix.com i am very impressed with their quality of prints ive had several photos printed from them and the quality is very good. its an online photo lab where you just upload the jpeg and you can choose from several different paper types and finishes, very reasonable pricing too last set i had them do was 2 16x20's and 2 11x14's total cost including shipping was less than $40, shipping was fast too had my prints in less that 10 days from the time i uploaded the files and placed the order, they also keep a record of your orders so if you another of something all you have to do is re order

Costco has quality machines and keeps them well calibrated.
Old enough to know better.
Young enough to go for it.
