Seems to work better when u set it completly flat but we really only use them when taking breaks or glassing. Love those things. We have hung them off packs before, it worked great for the guy walking behind it.

I used one while I was hog hunting in Mississippi a few weeks ago, not 100%, but it really helped keep the skeeters away. Since the fumes rise I laid it on the floor right under my seat in the blind, seemed to work well there.

I put mine upwind when I sit down in one spot for any length of time.  Occasionally if the wind is low, especially swampy areas and I'm walking slow or coming up on a spot I plan on sitting for a while, I will ignite it and attach it to my fanny (belly) pack.  There is a nice carrier you can get that also holds refills and can be hooked onto a belt, or clipped onto a pack.  If there is a good wind or I'm moving along an established hiking trail at a pretty good clip, I'll turn it off to save fuel.

I strap mine on my upper arm. That seems to protect my face very well and does not bother me. I wear it on the outside of my arm well above the elbow and it does no restrict my movement. I have used mine for a few years now and it make the difference between going nuts in a mosquito infested area and having a successful hunt.

I wear mine the same as Woodman and it works good. Mosquitoes love me normally but it really keeps them away.

You dont want to inhale your first time  :chuckle: But I love the thermacells. Treestand hunting is when they are most effective! We use them when setting up for elk or even still hunting the timber.  I would recommend them to anyone!

I havent noticed a difference. I see just as many elk and get close to elk and deer with them on. Of course if you are playing the wind like you should, then it shouldnt matter.  :twocents: I have been running them and killed bears in the swirling wind. I havent noticed a difference in my encounters

Save a TON of money and learn to reload the fuel cartridges.  It's not hard.  Go to youtube and find the videos.  There are a bunch.

I love mine, we went fishing at manashtash this spring and the other three in the group were spraying off all day and still swatting.  I set the thermacell next to me and never once had a bug near me, I didn't tell them I had it and they just couldn't understand what the deal was.
