I have been looking for uppers... seems everyone and their cousin is sold out, unless you want to spend 800-1000.00 on just the upper....

I really was thinking the RRA CAR kit was the way to go, then all I have to do is buy my lower and assemble it, and I would be done.. but they are sold out, as well..

Even Model 1 is sold out of everything..

Check aim surplus and joe bob outfitters. I have done a lot of busniess with both and both are great to deal with.

What happened here?  I thought they were all supposed to still be touching at 200 yds?

For a 90.00 buck barrel, I'll take it any day. Besides that's off the bench now put the margin of error in there from a improvised field shooting position and it's going to open up a little but still plenty good for MOA of Rockchuck head.

I have my days when I just want to pitch a custom rig down the range, I know it's not the rifle. I'm just having a bad day driving it.

I have been intrigued by a 6mm-223 for a while now. Would work well for fun shooting as well as a moderate range deer rifle. Anyone owned one?

I have owned several 6x45's, they are great in a carbine for coyote calling. Very easy to load for, it is hard to find a load that doesn't shoot well.

Couple questions (working up my first build too)

What do folks think of Yankee Hill Machine uppers and barrels?

I know this off topic (forgive me) but with a 1:7 twist on a 5.56 barrel, what would you shoot?  62 grain?  80 Grain?

The 1:7 will shoot the very heavy stuff well and not shoot the light stuff worth a darn. Both the 62 and 80's should shoot well in a 1-7 twist.

YHM is good stuff

Monolithic Upper NoticeTo our Valued Customer:

Announcement regarding Mega Arms Monolithic MTS upper receivers: We have both good news and also tough news to deliver. So to quickly get the bad news out of the way: we are no longer manufacturing, or offering for sale, our MTS Monolithic upper receivers. This includes sets involving the MTS upper in AR-15 and MATEN. If you are a custom MTS client, please contact us.You must be wondering why we are taking this step. No, we did not have any safety or quality issues. You already know that our MTS upper is made to our high expectations and has been the pinnacle of the industry since its inception. We recently became aware that a competitor is about to obtain a patent, and we believe that this competitor will assert its patent against us. We have strong defenses, but we are not a large company that can sustain ongoing litigation expenses. Plus we would rather be working on providing a superior replacement. The good news is that we are working on a new platform that far exceeds anything currently offered in the industry. It will be exactly what you would expect from Mega Arms. We have no specific time frame on when we will be able to start shipping the new platform, but stay tuned for news on that front. The MTS upper for AR-15 and MATEN has been a huge success for us at Mega Arms, and we are just as disappointed as you are with this decision and change. We convey our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause to you or your customers. We at Mega Arms look forward to our new platform, and believe that it will be a platform that the industry would expect to see from us at Mega Arms!Sincerely,Mega Arms
