I have been intrigued by a 6mm-223 for a while now. Would work well for fun shooting as well as a moderate range deer rifle. Anyone owned one?

I run one, actually, I have two but one may be sold. I really like the 6-223 aka (6x45mm) it is very easy to load for, easily shoots up to an 85gr bullet without a feeding or stacking problem plus it uses all standard 223/556 bolts, mags.

This year I'll be using a 20" Blackhole Weaponry barrel and I plan on using the 58gr V-Max bullets which seem to be the hot ticket for coyotes without blowing them apart. Hopefully this winter it will put up a good amount of fur for me and since it's a deer legal caliber, it will cleanly kill deer within a couple hundred yards.
Checkin' wind and makin' smoke.
That's how I roll...

:yike: Sounds like they should have had a patent!

Live and learn.

I have owned several 6x45's, they are great in a carbine for coyote calling. Very easy to load for, it is hard to find a load that doesn't shoot well.
know any place to get a decently priced upper in 6x45? i am thinking of selling my 223 upper and looking at options.

BlackHole Weaponry out of Moses Lake WA is your best bet for quality and a quick delivery time.

Mega rocks , they are still out there. Seekin's is a nitch, if one could read they would see that it's just the monalithic uppers that are the issue with the patent. Mega produces very high quality billet lowers and upper recievers period. I can't even count how many people I have seen walk away from the Seekin's due to the non traditional mag well sweep. Different strokes for different folks, Mega is a big outfit. They got that way for a reason.

Hell POF gives Mega a run for its money in the billet department. They are just not as well rounded as Mega. More of a stout, utility , military directed outfit. You know , perfessional types. Not crew Gucci  :chuckle:

That .25 WSSM would be one fun cartridge on a AR.

I now have the 243 wssm....  I can not wait for coyotes and deer season....   :bfg: :bfg:  I am in the process of looking for a 5.56/.223 upper or complete rifle now..  want a 16" heavy (not bull) barrel...

You should love how that rifle shoots!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Just be certain to push those shoulders back when you resize the fired casings, otherwise you'll not be happy and use plenty of lube, those WSSM cases can be a bear until you get it right.
