Go shoot it and then carry it around the woods for a day. Piss on it if you have to. Take it out on a rainy day and then throw it in the corner when you get home without feeling bad about it.
I'm stomping 140gr Barnes TSXs on Reloader 22 as we speak. I've had these cases ready to go and primed for two weeks. I can't let that effort go to waste!
I dunno maybe your like me and need a unique or older caliber like a wby/wsm or 264wm instead of the regular boring ol '06 or 300win/7mmRM to get you perked up and excited to go out and shoot it! even though i now have a boring 7mmRM but i really miss my 257wby! Or be like me in would rather buy something used/older and redo everything and bring that thing back to life by putting a little bit of yourself into it like a old car! i just finished a now beautiful 1971 m70 7mmRm with high grade walnut and gloss blueing with iron sights a classic mountain rifle! when i was refinishing the stock the previous owner had his name, address and date on the butt of the stock when i removed the butt pad kinda a cool feeling letting that ol rifle hunt again!
So I bought a stainless/synthetic Remington M700 XCR in 7mm Rem Mag as a "go-to" rifle for WA hunting. I just can't warm up to it. I have never liked ss/plastic even though I know its more appropriate for around here. I've had it a few weeks and still haven't even shot it yet and I'm honestly not that excited about it. Now what?
