Video Camera ?
« on: July 27, 2012, 04:10:32 PM »
Ordering a new video camera soon and was wondering if any of you guys digiscoping and filming hunts have any input on my decision. I am looking at the Canon Vixia HF S30 or the Vixia M50. We are planning to digiscope and film hunts with whatever we decide to buy.

Anyone have any expeirence with those models or any of the other similar models?

I'm not a video expert, but why not something like the 5d mkii?   you can swap out lenses etc.
They filmed 75% of Act of Valor with 5d ii's..   just a thought.
Old enough to know better.
Young enough to go for it.

nice..but for video the the video cams are better for the dollar..the mentioned setup would be pushing $4k or more  .. but then if u have $4k to burn u could buy one hell of a vid cam.

Spend your money on a Swaro spotter and use a iPhone, that way you can use the spotter when not digiscoping.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

Already packin a Vortex Razor HD spotter. Using a scope cam adapter that just comes right on and off. So I can spot with it and video all day if want to. Just didnt know if anyone on here has much video cam advice. Camera should be here before long and ill share some video.
