Several in that field are members on the site. Most are not as active as they use to be.

It's a member's name on here.  And you might think about changing your tag line before anyone in a government capacity sees it!  Also, I don't know squat about what it takes to work for them.

:yeah: look at the disqualifiers, if they don't apply to you then go for it. Send in your chit practice oral boards in front of your family, read your game regulations and just go about your life. Its a long process. Just be patient. Its that way for a reason, and keep your nose clean. I'm not an officer. Just friends with many of them.

People from WDFW do pay close attention to this website....I wouldn't be suprised if there are members of WDFW on this forum but there is so much animosity towards the department that it doesn't surprise me they don't post.

Here's alot of good info to peruse.  I am thinking of doing the same thing in a couple of years when I leave the military.

Here's the thing guys and I am not proud of this at all but I have two misdemeanor convictions on my record I dont wish to get into detail but the only way to explain it is to just say it. One is for disturbing the peace (non-alcohol related) I had just turned 18 and was playing my guitar in the middle of the afternoon, but it was too loud for an off duty officer who was trying to sleep in the area so he called in a buddy and gave me a ticket. I didn't think it was criminal I thought it was a civil violation cause I was never arrested or jailed I just had to pay a fine. The second was possession of weapon in prohibited area. I have a concealed weapons permit but didn't read the rules thoroughly. I thought I was acting with in the law when the incident happened; I never intended to break the law. I have since served my time and paid my fine. The judge did not take my permit away or my rite to own firearms. I learned my lesson and that is one of many reasons I try my best to know all laws, rule, and regs for any activity I participate in now.
I have been to the fish and wildlife website a million and one times. From what i have gathered neither of my two violations are an automatic dis-qualifier but at the bottom of the page they get real vague. They say "some misdemeanors can be automatic dis-qualifiers"
Anyway after reading my sob story. The question i am trying to get answered is will either/both of these violations completely disqualify me from a potential career with Fish and Wildlife?
I just want to make sure I am not wasting my last year in college studying for a position I can never have because of a couple past mistakes.

Have you tried calling them and asking?

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

I sure it wouldn't be a problem. It all depends on how long ago each offense was. If it was say 10 years ago then they will be fine with it. Example: One of the questions they are going to ask you also is have you handled or smoked pot in the last "x" years. Now most kids have been around or did pot while growing up. So they know that every human makes mistakes, it is just when it happened. Good Luck to you! Hopefully with all the cut backs they are still hiring when you go looking for a job.
