The best thing you can do about your history is to be honest and up front about it. No one is perfect, don't worry about it.

360-902-2200.  Ask for the Enforcement Program.  When you are switched to their receptionist, ask to speak with one of the Program staff who works in recruiting.  When you get that person, tell them about your criminal history and ask if it will DQ you from consideration.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Here's the thing guys and I am not proud of this at all but I have two misdemeanor convictions on my record I dont wish to get into detail but the only way to explain it is to just say it. One is for disturbing the peace (non-alcohol related) I had just turned 18 and was playing my guitar in the middle of the afternoon, but it was too loud for an off duty officer who was trying to sleep in the area so he called in a buddy and gave me a ticket. I didn't think it was criminal I thought it was a civil violation cause I was never arrested or jailed I just had to pay a fine. The second was possession of weapon in prohibited area. I have a concealed weapons permit but didn't read the rules thoroughly. I thought I was acting with in the law when the incident happened; I never intended to break the law. I have since served my time and paid my fine. The judge did not take my permit away or my rite to own firearms. I learned my lesson and that is one of many reasons I try my best to know all laws, rule, and regs for any activity I participate in now.
I have been to the fish and wildlife website a million and one times. From what i have gathered neither of my two violations are an automatic dis-qualifier but at the bottom of the page they get real vague. They say "some misdemeanors can be automatic dis-qualifiers"
Anyway after reading my sob story. The question i am trying to get answered is will either/both of these violations completely disqualify me from a potential career with Fish and Wildlife?
I just want to make sure I am not wasting my last year in college studying for a position I can never have because of a couple past mistakes.

Your question is a good one. Outdoor Guardian is a wealth of information and might be able to help you with your question. If I were you I would search his name under members and send him a pm. :twocents:

:yeah:  Being open and honest about what transpired and your history will do more good than harm.  They're going to find out anyways so why lie about it (I know from experience, over 5 years of L.E. experience).  Best advice I can give is try for a bottom position and work your way up.  Prove to them that you can be a valuable and reliable asset and things will go up from there.  Good luck and hope everything works out.
