Sooo, when is the 10 weeks up? If it's a running 10 weeks that puts it early Dec. which would cut off the last 6-7 (and usually most productive)weeks of the seaso. And any brant, snow goose, and maybe even sea duck hunters looking to score would potentially be left out. And I'm still searching for a partner who can shoot lights out and has an endless supply of ammo. Oh, there's not an ammo limit is there?

In my experience the most successful parts of the season are EARLY season.  But, final stuff isn't out, I may extend it to 12 weeks.

Here is an updated points listing...

Mallard...1
Widgeon...1
Common Merganser...1
Surf scoter...1
Canadian Geese...1
Hooded merganser...2
Redhead...2
Spoonbills...2
Teal(All species)...2
Buffle head...2
Whitewing scoter...2
Black scoter...2
SnowGoose....2
Golden eye...3
Oldsquaw...3
Pintail...3
Wood Duck...5
Harlequin...5
Scaup (Bluebill)...2
Coots...0

Canvasbacks are illegal to shoot.  They will not be counted, and we encourage you to IDENTIFY before you shoot!

Eurasian Widgeon and Barrow's Golden eyes will be given 10 points each.

Full limits of mixed sex is an additional 5 points per hunt. Proof of picture.
All male full limits add an additional 10 points per hunt. Proof of picture.

Dusky Geese...You will have a negative deduction of -10 points if you shoot a dusky.  I know most of you won't report it, but...

Points will be added by the waterfowl hunters themselves and will be trusted by the commitee and all the HUNT-WA.com members to take pride in counting there ponts appropriately and making sure that they dont add un-accounted for points. We are going to trust the honor system and see if we can all be adults.......

know go have fun and shoot some ducks......points will be comprised for a weeks diration and then tallied against other hunters to see who wins from week to week.....

Week counts will begin the sunrise of monday and continue till the sunset of the following sunday.

Banded ducks will be given a bonus point double of watever the species designated point is.......so whatever it is times two (x2).

seriously, 2 points for a spoony?

I'm competitive but not competitive enough to include garbage ducks in my limits....

Good thing we know how to pound the mallards and are patient enough to look for bands!

we could always do an early season competition and follow it up with a late season one?

Yep, General I was kinda thinking along the same lines as you. I think I was in my 2nd or 3rd year of waterfowling the last time I spent any lead (it was legal in those days for you newbies) on buffleheads, mergys, or coots. This is going to change my whole outlook on species desirability. I can see it now...... a dozen greenies locked up , feet reaching for the water.........and a wayward goldeneye comes whistling by!!! Yep, I'm still gonna take the mallards. I'm just hoping I can do well the few times I'm going to get out. As late as summer is, it may be December before we get any good duck huntin' weather anyway  Oh well, I just hope the dude I know who's feeding 150 wood ducks doesn't enter this or nobody stands a chance!!!!

Again, this is a competition.  This is not about how many mallards you can kill, which would make this a bloodbath competition.  Those on the East side have the higher volume of mallards, and should limit more often then the west siders, but the west side has the rarer ducks, which will balance it out.  Bands, and all male limits give East Siders much higher bonus opportunities.

Point values will remain the same, and we will have only 1 season for competition.  Rules will be finalized shortly.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR TEAMS TO ME IN A PM ASAP!!!!!!!!

any distinction on drakes versus hens for points?  i.e. are you really giving 3 points for a hen pintail or 5 for a hen wood duck?
What about gadwall? snow geese?

I agree, conferring with other committee members on ideas and solutions.  Keep the feedback coming, some I like, others I don't but feedback is awesome!

General shoot some ducks, have fun, count your points and if you are as good as you are cockie then you will win......and there are alot of people who dont ever get a chance to see spoonbills ever during therehunting season, so yes a spoonbill or as you call a garbage duck is worth 2 points.....

all hens regardless of species are worth 1 point.......

and gadwall and snowgoose will be added acordingly......

thanks for the suggestions guys, have fun, be safe and find a partner because partners get more points..........(secret)
