Love the 300WSM. I can pick just about any of the popular calibers out of the safe and 90% of the time I take that one. I'm just the opposite on the kick. In a fairly light x-bolt, I have very little kick with the 300WSM.
I just bought one and was wondering how many of you hate/like THIS gun and caliber ONLY. Thanks guys and gals. Oh, I put a 3x9x40 VX1 Leupold on 'er.
Love the .300WSM Tikka.
I knew you'd say that. But, it's my first Tikka ever.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

The caliber is an awesome one.. if you want some load data let me know.. I load for my brother and nephew, and they both shoot very very well.
Whats wrong with Tikka? Guessing something to do with modifying it?

Oh, mine weighs 7.1 lbs with the scope w/no sling. Really light, 3.5 lb trigger, nice smooth bolt.I'm going to be over, but probably later in the season. I have an any bull tag in the Observatory that I want to get filled. I have the Multi season deer, so will be over for deer and bear later on. If you want to pick me one out I would appreciate it. That big on from last year would do just fine if the cub is gone.Brother in laws dad who owned the cabin passed away about a month ago, so still waiting to see what happens with the property over there. I'm guessing the brothers are all going to keep the place. I'll let you know when I'm heading over again. You hunting muzzy again this year?

That would do. Not quite as big as the one I saw last weekend. Monster 3x4 that I wouldn't mind sticking and arrow in. I'll let you know when I can get over there. I'm hoping for Muzzy and stay through modern if I can fill the elk tag.
I have the Tikka T3 lite 300 WM. Not sure what the difference is between that and the WSM is. Maybe someone could enlighten me.
My experience with Tikka T3s is that they are very accurate and easy to carry. Factory scope rings suck and suggest Talley LW or DNZ as replacements. The only thing that bugs me, and it really bugs me, is that there is only 1 action length for the Tikka. Buying a short action cartridge doesn't matter because its not a short action. And, depending on how the rifle is throated, the magazine could be too short for the 300 Win Mag. The 300 Winny has a longer case than other standard magnums but still abides by 30-06 OAL. It really needs a longer box to really shine.I can go either way on the WSMs. I think the 270 and 300 are here to stay as main-stay cartridges. I've had issues reloading for WSMs due to dies being a bit too long and not allowing proper resizing of the shoulder and crappy feeding. Die companies will fix the dies if this is the case though.
Yep[/quotI just was told that. Learning things at my age is a great thing................
