I'd rather hunt with Dick Cheney, than ride with Ted Kennedy.

Nice Krusty!  I have about 35 skunks so far and but only about 20 coons so far this year in nusiance calls.  I have two beaver jobs lined up for this winter.  I asked them if they wouldn't mind waiting till it gets colder, sure hate wasting a nice beaver pelt!!

Rooster,

I would rather cook and eat my favorite pair of boots, than skin a raccoon.
I dunno what it is about it, but the smell of raccoon fat makes me wanna puke! :dunno:

If you really want one, you can have it "in the round" (*whole). :P

Fred,

We don't have skunks (in my area), so every place one would be, a raccoon fills that void.

Almost all my calls are referrals from the WDFW, and within ten miles of home, for the most part.

I'm doing the same thing, trying to put off beaver jobs... I found an awesome new outlet for tanned beaver pelts, and did pretty well with the wall hangers last time around.

I plan on staying in Newport after deer season, until X-mas, fur trapping, and I'm hoping to spend January, over here, trapping beaver.

*While I was writing this, I got a call to trap some beaver here in West Seattle, and they can't wait, they've dropped four trees this week, almost killing the neighbor last night.  :chuckle:

Krusty, I have a friend who has property up that way that would like some beaver removed.  Would you like the job?  I think it is a half hour away from Newport.

I'll get all the details and let you know.  He wanted them done this summer, but I asked if he could wait till the pelts were prime.  I will try and get some photos of the property, the dameage they are doing and I'll even try and stake out some channels so they are easier to find this winter.
