Bushnell camera going bad
« on: August 01, 2012, 02:33:21 PM »
I believe this camera is less than two years old, and I'm getting off color pictures. Been happy with it so far but i think it is time to replace it.  So as my username states I B SPOILED, my wife ordered me two new Moultrie M80xd's yesterday and they should arrive Saturday.   :IBCOOL:

Reading the camera reviews, I read that one guy with this same camera used an ultra SD card and it worked for awhile and then the camera quit.  Has anyone had any issues using different SD cards such as ultra and non-ultra cards?

Here is a few pictures of what my Bushnell is taking currently.  This just recently started.  Any input or ideas?  I looked into the warranty, but haven't located my receipt to see if it would be under warranty still.

My stealthcam won't take any of the high speed SD cards.. anything that has optima or ultra or micro or HD or anything like that on it. III think thebushnell are similar. Go to a normal SD card and itshould be better. Thecammay need reset tho. The tech at stealthcam said that thememory card was trying to save the pictures before the camhad it ready with the optima card

Not sure about what a camera does when it doesn't like the SD card, but those pink pictures look a ton like the ones I get from my homemade cameras that I've taken the IR filter out of.  I suppose there's a little mechanism that moves the IR filter for night shots and leaves it there for the day in a store-bought camera.  If that wasn't happening properly, then you'd get that same pink picture.  Not sure how to fix it, but it'll likely work for years if that's all that goes wrong if you don't mind the pink pictures.  A pic editing program can fix that by using an auto-set-white-balance function and having you tell it what in the picture should be white.

Here's an unedited example I have from mine:

And here's a quick edit job.

There's not a ton of change, but it helps on ones you want to see better.
