Mathews DXT string trouble ---any suggestions?
« on: July 19, 2012, 06:59:25 PM »
I have a 2008 Mathews DXT.. I keep wearing out the string where it travels through the roller. I'm using a Winners Choice string. The rollers spin freely.

Any Suggestions?

Are the cables served where they make contact with the roller?

My short answer to cause trouble and :stirthepot: would be to throw the whole thing away.   Is there perhaps some sort of sharp spot on the rollers themselves?   Make sure there is serving on it like nubbs said.  Other than that i have no idea.

The string is served where it travels through the roller. The serving wears out and unravels.... very frustrating....

The serving seperates? I think winners choice has a warranty on that. If it were me I'd just get rid of the wc string and buy somethin else.

Run a Qtip around the roller any burrs will grab the cotton and show right away. No burrs call WC as the guarantee the serving unless I believe its a custom colored serving.
Shut up and Hunt!

I have the same bow and my serving wears out around the lower cam but never had an issue with the rollers. I would take everyone advice and make sure they are not burred. You might want to look and make sure the cables are running in the roller and pulling off to one side.

Same thing happened with mine on my winners choice and zebra twist
