Caged a bobcat
« on: August 03, 2012, 07:30:35 AM »
I really hated to trap a cat in August, but the customer insisted it couldn't wait till Winter. I was well paid, so it eased the pain a little. Apparently this cat ate 22 of her chickens. I brought 3 traps to her place; the new Comstock, a Mercer sized trap, and my trusty Hav-a-Hart. Each trap was baited w/ a chunk of beaver meat which was wired to the trap and each trap was placed at a recent 'kill site'.  The two taller traps were pushed back into the brush---sort of a cubby set. The Hav-a-Hart was out in the open with a few sticks for a backing. As you can see, the more open set connected. It didn't even take a day to catch it; I made the sets at 10AM and got a call at 4PM  to come and pick it up.

Sounds like that kitty thought he just had the run of the place and was pretty darn bold.

Sheesh, that's a tad better than my one cat in 30+ days last year. Nice job!
