elk calling video or book
« on: August 03, 2012, 10:54:59 AM »
I have hunted elk for bout 5 years now, but haven't really dove into calling them yet.  What instructional video or book would you all recommend???
Thanks!

Dwight Schuh has an older book but I always thought it was fantastic, it's the first thing I let new hunters borrow, it is called "Bugling elk".  I have elknuts vids too, other good ones are Rocky Jacobsen's (Bugling Bull productions) as he is calling on public land in his vids generally.  Primos are fun to watch but they are almost always animals on private ranches, so over realistic too how call friendly most animals are.

If you are a beginner learning "how to" the best thing to do is practice practice practice until you get good at it, then it's like riding a bike.

Calling in elk is the best thing I've ever done in hunting.  An E ticket ride for sure!

Good Luck!

www.roehuntingresources.com

Tons of instructional videos, etc. on elk hunting/calling; get in touch with Chris, he loves to help and teach calling.

Lapinski is the MAN, and so is Schuh - I love their stuff.
