I will be taking my five year old son with me at some point this season. I can point to the bears at cabelas and he can tell me if it's a polar bear, brown bear or black bear. He is also very entertained with a pair of bonoculars

Bah.  What a waste.  didn't see a single animal of any type move.  In the complete wrong spot.  Lots of unripe blackberries but no tracks and no scat.  sucked

Yea I bet it was quite a wast of time. Being out with your two young children looking for bears. Man that must have really sucked. :dunno:
By the way. Sitting glassing the "right" clearcuts from a landing is a very productive way of hunting bears.
