This past weekend scouting....
« on: August 06, 2012, 10:28:36 AM »
We jumped a ton of bucks close by...4, 5 pts, 2, 3's, etc...heres a few from the spotter scope. Saw lots of bachelor groups...we saw 5 go over a ridge, made it over to them and got to see them close, it was awesome.
Upper left buck is a monster.

Dam those ridges look steep  :chuckle: Is this in a high buck area or general season? Good luck this fall!

Gonna try to post some uncropped photos, might show up better...
Yes, its steep...in fact, we thought there might be wolves or something below them keeping them up there. Funny thing is, they went UP the hill and over the ridge.

This is general season area.

In fact Bone, you  were brought up while we were scouting these guys.... I had mentioned how it reminded me of where you got your deer last year. Its right up your alley as far as goat deer that are tough to get at. I was surprised to see them hanging on such steep barren hills. And these three were about three of 20+ that we saw doing it.

Very cool.  I love seeing mulies in steep country.

I am sure he is. He is about 1 of 3 monsters we saw....we called him Big Red (cause of his hide compared to the others). I think he was the biggest one out of them all. My brother is going after him with archery....im half tempted to change my modern firearm tag with archery too!

I am hoping my brother gets a shot at him, if not, I know he's out there somewhere.....
