  Good job Montana what a way to operate. Idiots. They lost out on $1,000 in deer tag fees from my gf and myself. We applied and were not drawn and refunded, but now there is almost 2,000 tags available. Think its time for them to change their system. My money went to ID instead

That is jacked up! Did they add tags after the initial draw?  The whole sysem is confusing to me, I figued out the antelope draw and how to get surplus tags... And Im stopping at that    Good luck in ID, what are you hu ting there?

Somebody should snag the 398-82 elk B license.  There's some pretty good elk country in the HD 360/362 area and had a 100% success rate in 2011 for what was the 398-80 then and is now busted up by dates.   

Thanks for the info    will have to look into it for future trips, hows access in that unit?

The success is less than 10%, it was a typo...

The extra tags deer combos come from people who had the big game combo tags and didn't draw their special permits so they had the option this year to kick them back for a partial refund. I called them yesterday to see what was up and the only way to purchase them is online.

yeah it is..I wrote them a email said way to go u had people wanting tags and u refund there money and say theres no tags, but turn around and offer 2,000 after the fact

My gf drew a sweet ID muley tag because of MT not giving us deer tags..I am hunting panhandle archery elk and buying a deer tag if Sept in WA pans out

I wish they would change the antelope B tags back to $50.... $200 isnt that appealing

That is not entirely true and that is why there is still deer/elk combos available.  I heard that after doing their survey of the populations this spring, the numbers were a lot higher than what they thought originally.  They decided to put out surplus tags due to more animals than they originally thought and I am sure the extra money helped with the decision.

MT wrote me a email and said the commission decided to to split up most of the big game combos
