I had one and I bought the cheapest ammo out there. Just buy a good elk cartridge because that's a lot of thumping power going down range. I actually have a box old 338 loaded ammo you can have. It's Winchester 225 gn SP, 20 of 'em. Just figure out how you pay for shipping from me and you can have them. Where are you located ?

I was looking for one to go with my old model M77 .270 Winchester. I've put a lot of venison and one bull elk in the freezer with it.
I shoot 225's out of mine and love em. As said before, lots of thump going down range. 200's and 210's are used pretty regular by some folks as well with devastating results as well. What model rifle?
