Problem Bear
« on: August 06, 2012, 06:05:34 PM »
Well my uncle has a bear on his property (only 25 minutes away) that has destroyed his plum tree. He would let me shoot it, and I would love too, but.............like the bears that I hunt in my area, it only comes out at night. Do you guys think that the bear will ever come out during the day  :dunno: There are still plums on the tree that are ripening so it will be back.

At some point it will move around during light hours.  To the plum tree, maybe maybe not.  Give it a try anyways and see what you can find.  :twocents:

You can always setup and call. If he does not want you to shoot it them it really does not matter much :chuckle:

It is very near. It won't go far away from the food tree.

Get yourself a plum call.   8)

Set up a trail cam and see if it changes it's pattern, might be able to catch him moving during the day at some point  :dunno:

Ok, I will do that  :chuckle: . And yes my uncle wants me to shoot it. The problem with calling is that it would just set off the neighbor dogs  :P Oh well. I guess that I will just have to put out a cam, and hope for the best.

I suggest patterning the bear. Find the trail it comes in on and fingure out what time the bear comes and goes. The set back up the trail a little way and wait.
