This buck was shot in 1925ish in eatonville washington by my Great Uncle.  When I had it scored 7 or 8 years ago it was number 4 in the world @ 171" but I know it has gone down in the last few years but I do believe it is still in the top ten.  I would like to put a new cape on it one of these days.

I had it at the yakima sportsmans show a while back and then I took it down the following year to Portland because a b&c scorer (lost his card and can't remember his name) down there was doing a book on blacktails and wanted to have it rescored.  He called me a couple years ago when b&c made a nontypical classification for blacktails and he wanted to officially score it as a nontypical because it would have been the new world record.  My grandfather still has it so I can't do much with it and he doesn't want to recape it for some reason.  Not too bad looking for a 87yr old mount though!  My grandpa said when they down size to a smaller house in a few years then I can have it.  You can bet you will be getting a call from me when that happens!

I cannot for the life of me remember the guys name that scored that buck but I did send him some pictures and info for a book on blacktails he was doing so ya that is where you probably saw it!  I will get some better pics one of these days and get them on here.  I can't even describe the mass on that thing.  Whats really scary is he has over 10 inches of deductions or something close to it.

what time of year did you whack that pig, it looks like the same stuff i hunt, as all blacktail hunters hunt i should say, you got to tell the story, i love blacktails that people get when they hunt them in their domain, i aint taking anything away from the guys that catch a stud in a clearcut, but it is totally differant gettin a big hog in the brush, so cough it up BLRman whats the story
