There are two very obvious and fiercely adamant camps regarding our Second Amendment Rights; one is pro-gun, and one is anti-gun. We, as a group, tend to fall into the pro-gun category of citizens.
It is very important to note how those on the anti-gun side continuously try to chip away at our rights at every opportunity they have. It seems that anti-gun legislation or anti-gun ordinances are introduced at the national, state, and local levels on a daily basis. There is most definitely a constant barrage of attacks on our rights to own and transport firearms. The anti-gun faction is relentlessly attacking our rights that are already Constitutional Rights, the Second Amendment. Anti-gun groups are propaganda machines that prey on the unaware public and those that aren’t quite sure where they stand; their objective is to confuse, divide, and conquer.
We, on the pro-gun side, must take every opportunity we can to protect our rights, and to get legislation passed that gives greater assurances that our rights remain intact. There is no single piece of legislation that will fix everything. Our efforts need to be continuous, consistent, and unified at the national, state, and local levels. This isn’t just about gun rights; it’s about all of our rights. If one Amendment in our Bill of Rights (the Second Amendment) is lost or weakened, the rest of them can become easy targets. It’s good to be free; I think I can safely say that most of us want to keep it that way. If we expect to keep our rights and our freedoms, we must act as a united front.
