Good shots Hogsniper, man. I rarely see bear in the backcountry (although one of my buddies shot one with a bow today packing our elk camp in).  I can rarely find them above timberline.  It looks like I need a different drainage?

Nice work, that is an inspiration to us all to take some photos.

I was hoping this would die down already!!!

But anyways I had been seeing a lot of bears out and about and keyed in on one little blue berry patch that had the only ripe berries in town. So i headed in there on a monday and saw three bears. 2 small ones and jumped another that I couldnt tell how big it was. Had to work a few days and then headed back in the same place on a thursday with a buddie. We had hiked a ways when I hear something and see movement about 30 yards infront of us. It was coming right for us so we held our ground. It came to within about 8-10 yards and smelled us and quickly fed away. Only saw a couple patches of black the whole time and it was the end of that hunt. So on that saturday me and my girlfriend head up into the same area and look around for awhile. Got to a landing and looked off only to see the brush snapping and popping and this black blob coming right at us. I knew for sure it was a single bear and from the amount of brush moving thought it was a big one for sure. I wanted her to shoot it but she wasnt comfortable shooting off hand so i pulled out my .45 pistol and let him keep coming straight for us. At about 30 yards I saw a blur and then a front shoulder. Took aim and shot him. One shot it was all over. Right through the heart and blew up both lunges. Waited a few minutes and then went over to see what I had harvested.....In a couple days I will post pics for you all to see what it looked like...Its a beautiful bear.....
