Or you could do this using metal patterns like brushed aluminum.

I could be wrong but that dosent look like a metalized skull.  There is a process called fossilizing which involves soaking skulls in tea or usually coffee and coffee grounds or other darkening agents.  They can then be buffed, waxed or sprayed with a clear coat to get the glossy look.   This is a Coyote skull done this way.

Charlie has taken a bunch of my money.
He's gonna keep getting it too. Figure I owe to him, as everytime im down that way I propbably cost him an hour+ of production telling war stories :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Yet to be unhappy  with Charlie. He's damn good at what he does!

That was my thought on seeing it also.  It looked like one of those casts of a fossilized/tar pit type skull.  It does look pretty cool though.

If price of metalizing is an issue you may try what NW Hydro was explaining about having it dipped but use a metal, or rock type pattern that matched your liking.  Here is one I finished the other day for a client, there are endless patterns that you could pick from.  Take a look here.

I realize that we have folks on here that ARE very good with skulls............but do any of them do this?

I beleive Hunter Dug is doing skull cleaning and the dipping . Most taxidermist send skulls out to be dipped .

Unfortunately I do not metalize; however am offering Hydro graphics with or without the skull cleaning. Cant guarantee the work unless I clean the project though.  PM for price sheet.

charli do you know who does this ive asked fred peters and jug blankenship as well as zak weiss at rainer taxi and it seems to be somthing new to them like i said i first seen it in 09 its awesome i wanna offer it to my customers so any info would be awesome thank you
