How much would a gunsmith charge to port the barrel on my .308? I want to lessen the recoil for one of my sons.

I want to lessen the recoil for one of my sons.Just my .02) Try a limb saver recoil pad first, I put one on my 300WM after seeing a few youtube vids and it made all the difference in the world and dont need to spend the coin on a brake. They absorb the snap real well, I think I paid $35.
read this!!http://www.chuckhawks.com/muzzle_brakes.htmMagnaport charges about 150 but you must ship the gun to them to be ported they also sell brakesCarl
Put a slipon limbsaver pad on over the regular pad will drastically reduce recoil, while hunting i don't notice recoil or noise. shooting off bench is where you will get most recoil.off hand at a animal kid may never notice recoil.

May look into it anyway
