my first bear hunt, more reports.
« on: August 18, 2008, 09:54:46 PM »
well took a little hike tonight looking for a bear/scouting for deer.

i didnt see any fresh bear sign tonight. just a couple old piles in the middle of the road. couple of torn up stumps but they also looked old.

ended up seeing a couple rabbits, a grouse, and 2 deer. one nice 3x2

it was a fun night. my gf really liked it and hopefully we are gonna get her set up for deer this year with that deffered hunters lisence to see how she likes the actual hunt.

hit the hills again tonight. headed out towards carnation and walked in on a dnr road. there wasnt much going on in that area. there was some sign though. mainly old piles of crap and a couple stumps that looked like they had been torn up. berries werent ripe yet but i will be checking this spot in a couple weeks.

hit a second spot after that, same area as the other night. found alot of nice clear cuts that should hold a few bears when the little berry patches in the clear cuts get ripe.
