Buying points for Wyoming
«
on:

I want to start buying points for Wyoming. I have never applied for tags there, so can i actually buy points before ever applying? If so, how do i go about doing so?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I was thinking about starting this year, myself. I think July was the deadline for points only though.

There is SOME deadline in July, isn't there?
Regardless, how do you feel about putting in for points in a state that is overrun with wolves? Or am I wrong about that, too? I've only been through that state once.

I think you can still find some great elk hunting in Wyoming if you do your homework. The northwest corner might not be what it used to be but there are still plenty of quality units.

I'm buying points there. Still tons of awsome hunting there. I'm just building points to cash in on a top notch hunt in a year or two.

Looks like unless you've got a bunch of points already it might be QUITE AWHILE before you draw a "Blue Chip" hunt. According to EHJ it looks like even with max points you're looking at a 5% chance of drawing any of the top 20 hunts... or am I wrong?

you are probably right, but it all depends on what you are looking for. Just because it's not a "blue chip" unit according to Eastmans doens't mean that there are now trophy quality animals. Just depends on your definetion of "trophy"

Buy your points now, you will be glad you did in a few years.

I bought mine today. Go on their website and buy them, it's easy to set up. I drew a great bull tag a couple years ago with 3 points.
