Where’s a good place to buy mineral blocks and what is the best type for deer?

The Green Salt lick's seem to be working really well on the dry side. You can purchase them at Big R.

Sportsman's Warehouse has quite a few mineral blocks - as well as Cabela's.

Feed stores also have the trace mineral blocks.

You'll pay less than half for a block from the feed store VS sporting goods store and it will be 5 times as big.  I like the salt with trace minerals, all feed stores should carry them.  Actually I prefer the granular over the block and then mix it into the top 3 or 4 inches of dirt and turn it into a mineral lick.

Again, any feed store, but I'd--at minimum--suggest you also buy a block of iodized salt and compare the traffic with the mineral block.

They're dirt cheep at the feed stores...like $10?  I buy mine at the place in Monroe.  Cheep enough that you can buy a couple and see what the critters like.  I've got both iodized salt and one of the red mineral blocks out in roughly the same place, and they're already through the first mineral block and only about 20% through the salt block.

The ones from the feed store are so good, we even got my buddy to lick one in trade for buying him a milkshake....  :chuckle:

Another reason for the feed store...who wouldn't rather support the local feed store than cabela's or SW?

I would buy mine from Cabelas if they had the one I want.

I use regular old  rock salt and the stump I used last year is gone they literally ate the stump 6" into the ground and I haven't put any salt on it for at least 14 months.

Winston, there is a Cenex feed store up in Marysville and I think in Snohomish.  The one in Marysville is on State st just south of the 88th st exit.

there is a co-op just on the eastern side of I5 right at the hwy 2 junction in everett.  I assume they would sell salt.
