D-loop string
«
on:

I don't live near a place that sell archery supplies, so much of my stuff is either ordered online or has to wait until I am willing to hop on a ferry to go to Cabelas. I have been practicing a bit lately to get ready for the upcoming deer season, and my old loop is beginning to fray and needs to be replaced. I know I can just order d-loop string online, but I was wondering if there is a suitable substitute for it at my local hardware store? If the answer is no, so be it, I will just have to order some and then be patient. However, if there is something I could pick up at the local Ace, well that would be mighty convenient.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

I went to Marmot Mountain, they had the same type of cord. Try REI too.
Ferry.... what Island? The Knock Point is closer to the Edmonds and Mukilteo terminals than Cabelas.

That nylon cord at REI and Marmot does work and is similar to a few of the ones still on the market. But, the newer materials are far superior and designed just for the archery applications. Paradox, BCY and Gibbs all superior to that stuff.

I live on Whidbey. It's just about an even split between going to Marysville Cabela's or Nock Point once I get off the boat. Either one would be fine, really, but in the middle of tourist season here on the island, I don't get on that boat unless it's absolutely necessary. The lines coming and going both suck, and and because I drive something bigger than a rollerskate, it's a $20 round trip. Even if I just get something temporary until I can get real loop string material, that would be nice.
Thanks for the help,
Chris

Riverside archery in Mt Vernon OR Wilderness Archery in Bow are as close as you will get.
