Thinking of starting trapping
« on: August 20, 2012, 02:53:51 PM »
I have permission to hunt some private property close to my house, and it is covered with bobcat tracks.  I'm thinking of starting to trap them, but have no idea what the regs are and what traps to use.  I assume it is live-traps only, since the trapping ban outlawed the other varieties?  Does the typical Have-A-Heart live trap work out?

Yes, it can be done. It isn't very efficient, but it's possible. There is contact info for Trapper education on WAtrappers.com website.  Trapping license costs 41 dollars this year.

A live trap that is at least 18 inches tall and has a guillotine door. Cover the trap with brush beaver for bait in the back. And a sight attractor in front of the trap.
