Nikon makes Leupolds glass................there you have it.  Fully multi coated versus just multi coated has more to do with light gathering than size of objective lense.

And really no reason for BDC reticles...... If you can't hit it with a standard scope what's the point of shooting....   :twocents:

funniest thing I heard all day ! hahaha

I can shoot and kill with one shot from my 243 at 400+ yards..... With my 7mm Weatherby 700+..... Standard Simmons or Leupold scope..... BDC is a waste of time..... Learn to shoot your weapon and judge distance.....  :twocents:

:) :) I like the Leupold, I have VX3 in 3.5X10X40 and 50 on different rifles, I can see no difference in light gathering, Have compared many times in different conditions. All my hunting rifles run Leupold VX3's. I can drive to the factory in 2 hours. I am not a fan of BDC scopes either. I have some leupolds that I have used for over 40 years.  my 2.

May want to check out Vortex scopes also.  I pciked up a  4 x 12 x 40 for my son at the Sportsman show in Puyallup with a red dot recticle for only $149.  One awesome scope for the price.......My Buddy went back on the last day and picked up the same scope for $119.  Just a thought and same lifetime warranty and Leopold

I keep saying I will buy a nice Vortex for my next gun but I never do.  I have some of their Viper binos and they have been great.

That being said I just really like the VX-3 scopes.  I honestly can't tell the difference once the dollar amount gets up there.

I like dealing with Leupold and feel good about supporting them.

I too LOVE Leopold.  My go too rifle has a 3 x 9 x 40 from about 1970 that is too old for their database.  Fogged up about 2 years ago and sent it back to them.  "No Problem Sir"  got it back and set it back in the rings.  Only had to aadjust 2 clicks up and 3 clicks right.  Dead on!  Just when the kids spent their own money the Vortex was a bit cheaper.
