believe me I GOT MY  :twocents: Across .... can let them run over you when you know your right ..... and to take a guys pool is BS ...Just over a frickin fish ....its a meat fishery and they are all going to die anyway .... My point was a CORKY IS A FLOAT  and they still were trying to tell me thats not right  :dunno: I always catch them on eggs but when you have 100 people in the water walking around and spooking all the fish its hard to get them to bite and some do get fowled hooked ....So until I am seen or caught with a fowled fish I think they best go bark up another tree  :dunno: :yeah:

*Snip*

That is the Samish for ya! Those Gamies up there are in my experience ALL the ones that give the rest of them in this state a bad name. I've been hassled up there nearly every single time over some imagined infraction and have yet to receive my first citation.  :twocents:

I've even had them repeatedly grill me over my fishing day and threaten to search my car while at the gas station up there!
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

The first pic showed a corkey too.   :dunno:  Then you said you cant snag on a bobber.  But a corkey isnt a bobber.  not even close.  I thought you ment eggs.  But a hook with yarn and a corkey is snagging gear for sure.  Yes even if the corkeys big.  but nice fish and no i dont work for WDFW.  just stating what i see.  If you dont keep the fowl hooked ones then the gammies have no case i aggree.

I disagree with the above statement.

A corky or a cheater may not be a  "float/bobber" to some people.....but I fish a small river where most people fishing it use large corkies or cheaters for floats for their jigs or very small baits......and technically a corky is a drift "bobber".....  :dunno:  I think the gamies should spread out and go after people doing worse thing than not using what THEY think is a BOBBER! Next thing you know they will be telling us what brand of gear and line weights we are allowed to use! As BH45 said...it is a meat fishery, the fish are there to be caught, we are paying for that....I in no way condone snagging but this is going a little too far in my book....  :twocents:

Snagging , jigging is to me when you are continuously jerking the pole ....I have a corking suspended above a bait of eggs ... and when the tide is low there is not much current so your eggs lay on the bottom of the river and your bobber is not drifting much ....Whatever floats their boat .... I have relatives coming out just to go fishing and the last thing I need is dealing with them ...Believe me the other thought I was nutz going off but someone needs to do it , especially when I seem to deal with it all the time  :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle:

A bobber to me is anything that floats ... :twocents: plus the eggs float off the bottom to when you have the water running BUT when the tide goes to low the water is barely moving so they lay on the bottom and your bobber is not moving either  :dunno: They are so wacked in the head I can not stand it much more  :dunno: :o :yike:

Eggs are just sitting on the bottom? Never heard of a king rooting around on the bottom of a river scooping up balls of eggs.... While fishing eggs, your eggs must be suspended somewhat in the water column and not just sitting in the mud...

I don't think requiring people to use floats on the samish is going to do anything about the business as usual on that river... Guys will still lay their jigs/offerings on the bottom and wait for a king to floss himself or jerk when one fins by...

Not saying that's what you were doing, but just my couple cents.

Tony

Today I tried something totally off the wall ...I used sandshrimp and before it was said and done I had people running to the store for sandshrimp ...maybe the dept should give me a reward for helping people doing things legally  :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: When the tide is high you can definately drift sandshrimp with a bobber and catch the sheet out of them ....The tickets have not slowed the fishing down any and they are thick ...The silvers are in now so I will not be doing much Samish fishing until my brother shows up from back east ....he is dieing to catch some fish .....$ 35 FOR A 3 DAY PASS FOR NON RESIDENT So I hope he gets his money worth !! I have some big fish to show ya from the last 2 days ...when I get time I post them ...I have them in my frig. and it will take me 1/2 day tomorrow to put them all in seller bags and start smoking a few !  I still have not bought a hunting license yet :yike:  Not really that excited about filling a deer tag until November when those BiG BLACKTAIL are rutting ...May go elk hunting for a few days but thats not guaranteed yet either  :dunno: :yike:
