I typically stay in the Dayton unit but have been known to venture to a few others

Check the "go hunt" for open lands north of Touchet.  One other thing you might consider is that if you have not shot a deer yet gmu's 154 and 162 allow a youth hunter to shoot a whitetail doe on a general tag.

NE corner might not be a bad option. Haven't checked recently but usually a few units are open for youth doe and plenty of areas where you run into whiteys and mulies.
