Oh come on boys and girls. I just wanted to stir the pot a bit. I know alot of us hunt on Ft Lewis. I also know I try to avoid any REAL talk about real hunting out there. I grew up on the base and know it well. I can tell yall this as well, alot of soldiers are being stationed here due to closing other small bases. Plus alot of Bad a$$ mo fo's are back from the sand box. With all the extra training due the the influx of soldiers, it will be a little more difficult to hunt this winter. I will get out there a time or 12, dont be fooled. It is pretty thick, making it a hell of a challenge but I promise, a monster will come out of there, just like every year.

One of the better places to hunt is East Gate forest between Roy and the Roy Y at Spanaway.  Muck creek look for bear.  and bear off yelm hwy between southworth elementary school and Red Wind Casino for both dear and bear.  Shotguns with sabot slugs should do the trick.

This is very vague. There are several TA's between the Y and Roy. One of them is closed to all activity except training. And im not sure, but slugs may be illegal. Dont quote me on it though. And I wouldnt hunt anything near the Indian rez. Too much poaching. Hunting the fort is super tough. It is the thickest and brushiest land ive ever seen.

I heard there is going to be only one or two areas open this year. And the game wardens are going to be out like crazy. Make sure you register. I scouted a little and saw nothing and it was very thick. Any one wanna give me an area I don't care about a monster I just want meat.
