What made you pick the CM over the .260 Rem?

Superior BC, similar reload ability, Uniqueness, *censored* NAME

Well thought out.

CM has a BC of .585 with a factory 140gr hornady A-max, that's how.

CM has a BC of .585 with a factory 140gr hornady A-max, that's how.

The BC comes from the bullet, not the cartridge. Put that 140gr Amax into a .260 Rem hull and it'll have the same .585 BC.

I was just wondering what the reasoning for the choice was. IMO there isn't a lick of difference between the two. Either is a nice pick.  I totally get owning something unique that you won't see 40 of on opening day.

If you're gonna load you own, look at Bergers 140gr VLD. Its got a BC of .612

Yeah but I don't think Hornady does any 260 Rem :(. But hey thanks for the reload advice, But yeah, uniqueness had a lot to do with it, I doubt in my life time I'll ever hunt with someone with a lightweight savage in 6.5 Creedmoor, let alone somebody with a 6.5 CM.

Ok ok, I guess they're sexy enough, and yes, I think it's time the 6.5 gets the attention it deserves by being chambered in more popular rifles. Savage chambers they're guns and you still would not believe how long, how many phone calls, how many "out of stocks" I encountered trying to find this particular gun in 6.5 CM. I after awhile I almost settled for a .243, glad I didn't now! If you want one by Modern rifle you had better start looking now fellas! lol

Yeah, it is kinda strange.  I've had several dealers tell me this year that Savage doesn't chamber anything in .260 Remington anymore.  None of them would accept the explanations that "it's on their website", or "I just held one at Sportsman's Warehouse..."  I just walk away shaking my head.   :dunno:  Can't imagine what they'd say about 6.5 CM...

You think you got a hard-to-get gun, just try to get a Savage .17 Hornet!  Hornady has been advertising the ammo for months now, but Savage, who is supposed to be producing the mythical rifle has yet to come across.  Even Cabela's, who are usually among the first to get a new offering, in their last big Savage sale listed every caliber EXCEPT the 17 Hornet.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

It took me 3 months to get a model 12 LRP 6.5 creedmoor. I checked online everyday and finally bumped into one at High Mountain in Moses Lake out of blind luck and bought it on the spot. I was also looking for a 17 Hornet. Wholesale sports has ammo but no gun. the have the same action in 22 hornet though.

Should be a handy-dandy rig.  I see a lot of magnumb guys on here and light-done-right handy-dandy rigs trump all of their stuff.  A rifle belongs in your hands, not on your back.  Good on you.
