Heather's first bear!!
« on: August 20, 2008, 07:10:07 PM »
My girlfriend Heather shot her first bear on the 2nd.  The pack out of the unit was a little much for her, she's almost 7 months pregnant, such a trooper!!!

Breaking the baby in right away.  Should be a little muffled in there, hopefully he/she wont be gun shy! ;)  Nice bear by the way.  Nice family outing you guys will remember that forever!

With all that walking I'll bet you thought that you might have a delivery on the way!  Awesome, the Davy Crockett killing a bear when he was 3 doesn't seem like such a big deal anymore...

We hiked down to a cliff overlooking a clearcut that we've had good luck before on bears.  As soon as we started glassing the unit I spotted a bear below us.  I ranged the bear at 185 yards and she made a perfect shot and the bear piled up within 40 yards.  It was all over so quick, I hope she doesn't think it's always gonna be that easy!  I couldn't believe she stayed so calm, must be a girl thing, I think I was more excited than she was!  She's definetely a keeper for sure!  The boar weighed in around 210 lbs

i think ill try to get the wife to kill something while she's not pregnant for a starter goal. lol
