Welcome.
There is alot of land East of you. I would suggest the F&G website http://wdfw.wa.gov/ and you can pick up maps from WA DNR http://www.dnr.wa.gov/ .
Also for starters you should pick up an Atlas & Gazateer. You can get them at sporting goods or book stores.

Oh yea, don't take the ribbing too hard. Bring something to the table (doesn't have to be hunting or fishing related) so people can get to know ya and you will get the info you need.

Head past Enumclaw for deer and elk, but make sure you do not cross over into permit only GMU.  Lots of walk-in areas around there.  That is the closest to you I can think of off the top of my head.
Take BTKR's advice and study some maps.  That will help you pin-point likely areas.  Also continue to focus attention here with posts and advice and people will help you out.

Sorry you got jumped earlier, but it has been a common theme here to have guys ask for help right off, and then we never hear or see them again.  We are a good community and will help out, but we expect the same of everyone else.

Good Luck
- Scott

What kind of hunting interests you JT?  Bow, rifle, deer, bird, that sort of thing.  What are you used to hunting.  Liek teh thick stuff or open country.  What kind of legs do you have under ya?

thanks guys. i bow and rifle hunt. deer, bear and elk are what i want to hunt. i've hunted deer and bear before. i've got good enough legs to keep up with the better than average guy out there.
here's a little bit about me.
I'm 27. married 5 years, love my wife she's been my scouting partner this year and said she'd come along for some hunts too. been hunting deer since i was 12. been hunting as long as i can remember. got my first bb gun when i was 4. that started the whole thing.
