So are we able to forfeit some weeks? I have an Antelope tag to fill in Montana, I will bw gone the 10th of Oct. to the 16th or 17th. Then I have a Arizona Coues Whitetail tag to fill. For that I will be gone Oct. 22nd- Nov. 1st or 2nd. And If we are not successful on the high hunt I and TCHC will be gone for most if not all of the late Whitetail hunt! I know we will not win but don't count us out!
so we have to hunt WITH our partners? He can't shoot his limit on the west side and I can't shoot mine on the east side and count that as our score?
Just wondering if there was any particular reason that gadwall and ring-necked ducks were left off the list??

Well, I went back to the Gun Club tonight to follow up on a couple dead-eyes I had approached tues. night about partnering up for the big contest. I discussed the situation with the 2 older gents, but it was obvious there was no way I was going to convince them it was in the team's best interest to take high point birds other then your normal 1 pt. puddle ducks. The one dude even kinda stormed off mad mumbling something about a pine board, some wine and mergansers. Must be a delicacy from his childhood So I'm left standing there thinking what's a guy gotta do to get a darned partner anyway??? So then my spirits picked up as I noticed a young kid down on trap #1 just smokin' clays with a .410 single. You could tell he was a "natural". Come to find out Jimmy's 13 and lives on a farm 10 miles out of town with his mom and 9 brothrs/sisters. Only catch is, I gotta pick him up AND take him home AND buy his shells which will end up costing about $50-60 or more a week. I was at Sportsman's and the only non-toxic shotshells they had in .410 are like $35/box He thought they could use the extra meat. Says he keeps practiced up by shooting yellow jackets with his Red Ryder on the fly. I won't know for sure about him till school starts, 'cause he doesn't have a computer, not even a TV, so he can check the website and contest out. He's all jacked about it though, ' specially when I told about the little spot I have that NOBODY else knows about. That some of the birds had been swimming, splashing, and diving in that pond for years with nobody taking a shot at them . Well, I've got my fingers crossed, hoping it works out. Now I gotta figure out how to tell the little woman that I am going to need another $250-300 a month for hunting "expenses". Then I started thinking this might not even be contest legal as it would be like paying someone to hunt with you, almost like paying a guide. I'll keep you posted on any furher developments, Butch
